Vidyavardhan’s Institute of Design Environment and Architecture, Chandshi
Participated in event ‘Safar Godavarichi’ organised by Deshdoot,Nashik.
The students witnessed a live water source located in a wada on the edge of River Godavari where this event took place.
Students got inspired by the journey of various eminent personalities of Nashik city who are working for conservation and cleaning of River Godavari. Mr.Devang Jani who has been working on Conserving the natural streams in Godavari River bed, Mr.Chandrakishor Patil-the whistle man of Nashik who started the awareness campaign regarding river cleanliness and its importance, Executive Editor of Deshdoot Times Dr Vaishali Balajiwale explained the importance of river and community life around it,the flora,fauna and its relation with cleanliness of river.
Students also expressed their thoughts about architecture around the river bank, fourth year B.Arch student Asmita Shingne spoked about the architecture of wadas and the importance of tree plantation for the future of the city.
NMC commissioner Dr.Tukaram Munde inspired students to use their rights to express and report the malpractices happening around the river .
